In this day of globalization and specialties, collaboration is an ever more important skill that our students need to acquire for both their academic and professional careers. Collaboration has been one of those learning tools that offers wonderful benefits for the students but the devil has been in the details. Do you have a horror story about a group project assignment? Have you been interested in incorporating collaboration into your class but are wary of the potential problems? Online collaboration tools promise a lot, but do they deliver?
This session will provide educators with a survey of online tools available to them that will foster collaboration in the classroom. Included in the presentation will be specific examples of use for each of the tools reviewed and how these tools help overcome some of the problems of traditional collaboration.
